The biggest difference is what you can stream:

HBO Max plans: Stream HBO, plus more (13,000+ hours of entertainment). Enjoy HBO series and movies, Max Originals, and select series and movies from Warner Bros., the DC Universe, Cartoon Network, the Turner Library, Looney Tunes, Adult Swim, and more.
HBO Only plan: Stream HBO series and movies (4,000 hours of entertainment).

Standard plan: Download 30 shows and movies to watch offline.
Premium plan: Download 100 shows and movies to watch offline and enjoy select titles in 4K UHD.

Here's how to sign up for HBO Only:

Go to the Enjoy HBO Only page.
Below HBO Only, choose Continue - but remember, you can get the HBO Max Standard plan for the same price. HBO Max includes all of HBO plus even more movies, must-see series, and new Max Originals.
Complete the account form and choose Create Account. You'll sign in with this info.
Check your email address and password
If you previously had an HBO Max account, you'll need to enter a different email address.
Add a payment method and follow the steps to start your subscription.

To stream HBO on your favorite devices, install the HBO Max app and sign in using your HBO Max account email and password.

To find out which subscription plan you have, do the following:

Go to HBOMax.com/subscription and sign in to your account.
Your current plan will be HBO Only or a HBO Max plan (Basic with Ads, Standard, or Premium).
