How do I subscribe to HBO Max?
Things to know
Find out if you already have access to HBO Max.
You can sign up on your device or through a third-party provider.
Sign up on your device
Choose how you'd like to sign up:
Malaysia and Thailand: The Mobile plan is not available at HBOMax.com. Instead, you'll need to subscribe to HBO Max through the Google or Samsung app store.
Are you a new or returning HBO Max subscriber?
Go to HBOMax.com/product.
Choose a subscription plan and billing period, then continue.
On the Get Started screen, enter your email address or mobile number (if available) for your HBO Max account, then continue.
Complete the account form and choose Create Account.
Verify mobile number: If you're creating an account with your mobile number, enter the 6-digit code sent to your mobile number.
Add your payment method and start your subscription.
Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch HBO Max.
Singapore subscribers: If you're 21 or older, you'll be prompted to add a Profile PIN to your account. This PIN is required to access R21 content. For more info, go to HBO Max Profile PIN.
Now, you can sign in and stream HBO Max on any plan-supported device. Your subscription will auto-renew on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You can add your mobile number or email to your account as an additional sign-in method. To find out how, go to Change your account info.

Personalize your profile
The first time you use a new Adult profile, you can personalize your experience by choosing your favorite genres, brands, shows, and movies. To get started, choose Let's Go. If you don't want to share your preferences, choose Skip to start streaming. You can update your favorites on your phone, tablet, or computer by choosing the preference selector when you edit a profile.
Go to HBOMax.com/product.
Choose a subscription plan and billing period, then continue.
On the Get Started screen, enter your HBO Max account email or mobile number (if your account has a mobile number), then continue.
Do one of the following:
Enter your HBO Max password and choose Sign In.
Enter the 6-digit code that we texted to your mobile number.
Add your payment method and start your subscription.
Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch HBO Max.
Singapore subscribers: If you're 21 or older, you'll be prompted to add a Profile PIN to your account. This PIN is required to access R21 content. For more info, go to HBO Max Profile PIN.
Now, you can sign in and stream HBO Max on any plan-supported device. Your subscription will auto-renew on a recurring basis until you cancel.
You can add your mobile number or email to your account as an additional sign-in method. To find out how, go to Change your account info.

Enter your email and create a password.
Move down and choose Create Account. You'll sign in with this info.
'Check your email and password' message?
Choose Try Again to go back and reenter your email and password, or choose Sign In and try signing in with your email address.
Follow the on-screen instructions to subscribe.
Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch HBO Max.

Choose Use Mobile Number.
Enter your first and last name, then continue.
Press the Select or OK button on your remote to open the on-screen keyboard.
Enter your mobile number, then move down and choose Create Account. You'll sign in with this info.
Open the text message that was just sent to your mobile number and enter the 6-digit verification code. Didn't get a text message?
Follow the on-screen instructions to subscribe.
Choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch HBO Max.

Enter an email address for your HBO Max account (if you already have an HBO Max account, enter your account email).
Do one of the following:
New subscribers: Complete the account form and choose Create Account. You'll sign in with this info. Check your email and password message?
Returning subscribers: Enter your HBO Max password and choose Sign In.
Add your payment method and start your subscription.
On your TV, choose Start Streaming and you're ready to watch HBO Max.

Sign up through a provider
Subscription plans vary by provider. For a complete list of providers, go to HBO Max providers.
Contact your internet, mobile, or TV provider to sign up for HBO Max. For a list of providers, go to HBO Max providers.
You can sign up for the HBO Max & Viu Bundle in select countries and regions to get access to both apps for a discounted price. For more info, go to HBO Max & Viu Bundle. Once you've signed up for HBO Max, download theHBO Max app and Activate your HBO Max subscription.
Troubleshooting
If you get this message, there may already be an HBO Max account with the email address you entered.
In this case, do one of the following:
Sign in. Sign in using the email address you entered on the 'Create Your Account' screen. If you have trouble signing in, try resetting your password.
Enter another email address. Enter a different email address for your HBO Max account.
If you're still having trouble subscribing, contact us.
If you get this message, choose Try Again to go back and reenter your mobile number, or choose Sign In and try signing in with your mobile number.
You should get a new text message after entering your mobile number. If you didn't get a text message, try the following:
Make sure the mobile number you entered is correct.
Choose Get New Code to send another text message. You should get a new text message within a couple minutes.
Make sure your phone can receive text messages (check your cell phone signal strength and make sure Airplane mode is turned Off).
Make sure your phone is not set to block messages from unknown senders.
Try restarting your phone.
If the 6-character code isn't working, here are some things to try:
Try using a different browser (Chrome, Firefox, Microsoft Edge, or Safari).
Try using a private or incognito browser window.
Enter the code from your TV on your computer instead of your phone (or vice versa).
Try signing up on a different device.
Try signing out and then back in again. Here's how:
In HBO Max, do one of the following:
Phone, tablet, or computer: Choose your profile and then choose Sign Out.
TV device: Choose the Settings icon
and then Sign Out.
Sign in to HBO Max and try to watch something.
If this doesn't help, go to Fix an HBO Max subscription issue.
If you're signing up at HBOMax.com, go to Can't add a payment method.
If you're signing up through the HBO Max app, check with your app store to find out which payment methods are accepted. Not all payment methods are accepted for recurring subscriptions.
If you're signing up through another provider, check with them to find out what payment methods they accept.
Sometimes we'll ask you to solve a puzzle to help keep your account secure. If you're having trouble with the Captcha puzzle challenge, choose Restart to start the challenge over.
You can also choose Audio Challenge to secure your account another way.
If you get this message, you may have signed up for an HBO Max account in another country or region with the email address you entered. To fix this issue, do one of the following:
Enter another email address. Enter a different email address for your HBO Max account.
Change your account email. Sign in at HBOMax.com/account and change your email to a different email address. Then, go back to the Create Your Account screen and enter your original email address.
