Change an HBO Max-billed subscription

To change your base plan, go to How do I change my plan? To change your Sports Add-on, go to Add or remove the Sports Add-on.

Your subscription automatically renews on your next billing date. Here's how to find your next billing date:

If your subscription is billed through another provider, go to Manage an HBO Max subscription.

To cancel your HBO Max subscription:

Once canceled, you'll get an email confirming your cancellation. You can continue streaming until your subscription expires at the end of your billing period. If you change your mind about canceling, you can go back to Subscription (Step 1 above) and choose Resume Your Subscription.

If you have the Sports Add-on, the add-on will be cancelled when your base subscription expires and you'll get a refund for the remaining days on your add-on.

When you add the Sports Add-on to your base plan, you'll be billed each month until you remove the Sports Add-on or cancel your base subscription plan. The monthly Sports Add-on charge is separate from your base subscription charge.

If you remove the Sports Add-on before your next Add-on billing date, you can continue streaming until the end of your current billing period (and your base plan will not be affected).
